This is the capstone course for the Certificate in Big Data Analytics for Business and Management. It provides an opportunity for students to apply the knowledge acquired in the prerequisite courses such as decision science, modeling, data mining, data warehousing, and statistical tools, and successfully use data driven decision-making to analyze a single company in its industry context. Students will work in teams to assess a specific firm that will be recommended by the instructor, and develop an in-depth understanding of the firm's strategies and its industrial environment. Based on their own independent research, the teams will collect and analyze data about the company,  identify challenges and opportunities, and develop recommendations for the company’s future direction. The project will further students' skills in terms of developing business insights from quantitative analysis.
